The Puri Beach Festival is a high-energy annual cultural extravaganza held on the golden sands of Swargadwara beach along the Bay of Bengal in Puri, Odisha. Organized by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) in collaboration with the Odisha Tourism Department and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, this multi-day festival showcases the state’s artistic talent, maritime history, folk music, and coastal cuisine.
Usually held in November or December for 5 consecutive days, the festival attracts domestic and international tourists, transforming Puri’s coastline into an open-air stage for classical dances, sand art exhibitions, traditional sports, and handicraft fairs.

Origin and Objective

Inaugurated in 1993 by the late Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, the Puri Beach Festival was created to promote Odisha tourism globally and establish Puri as more than a religious pilgrimage destination.
